As of July 17th, 2020, most of Ontario, including Kingston, moved to Phase 3 of reopening. This has allowed the Kingston Flying Club to resume flight training and aircraft rental. Provision of our services is conditional on strict adherence to physical distancing, mask wearing, and hygiene guidelines by staff, students, customers, and visitors. Below, you will find an explanation of the measures the flying club is taking to ensure a safe, hygienic environment.

Due to the recent uptick of COVID-19 cases province-wide, the Kingston Flying Club has made the decision to suspend Introductory Flights until further notice. We will resume Intro Flights once case loads have become more manageable. We regret the inconvenience.

The wearing of masks within the premises and inside the aircraft of the Kingston Flying Club is now mandatory, in accordance with Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Public Health’s Section 22 Order, except in the following circumstances:

  • Children under the age of two years;
  • Children under the age of 5 (chronologically or developmentally) refusing their caregiver’s request for them to wear a mask;
  • Persons for whom wearing a mask would inhibit their ability to breathe in any way;
  • Other medical reasons precluding the wearing of a mask, such as respiratory disease, cognitive difficulties or difficulties in hearing or processing information;
  • Persons unable to apply or remove a mask without assistance, including persons so accommodated under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) or the Ontario Human Rights Code.

No person is required to show proof of the above exemptions.

Ensure proper social distancing is practiced where possible at all times.

Alcohol-based hand rub is available at all entrances and exits for the use of all persons entering or exiting the Flying Club.

Prior to each flight, the aircraft is wiped down with cloth wipes, targeting high-traffic areas such as seats, seat belts, all control surfaces, buttons, and switches, door handles, checklists, and flight instruments. Headsets are also wiped down after use.
Between 5 PM and 7 PM each night, the Flying Club uses a high-powered UV light device to destroy surface contamination.
Due to UV cleaning, until further advised, please do not enter Club premises between 5 and 7 PM.
